Receiving the Seasons

These seasonal meals are hosted according to the 24 seasonal points of the Chinese calendar. The meal is centred on receptivity, slowness and rest, following the elemental wisdoms of:

  • Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn or Winter

  • Liver-gallbladder, heart-small intestine, spleen-stomach, lungs-large intestine, or kidney-bladder

  • Anger, joy, worry, grief or fear

  • Wood, fire, earth, metal or water
